About the Property

Lavender is a Provence-style inn of 10 rooms in four buildings on Webber Avenue, just off Washington Street. The centerpiece is a heritage home with a wraparound porch, and several rooms have private patios or outdoor tubs. It is one of the Four Sisters Inns.

A breakfast buffet is served on the enclosed veranda each morning, with an afternoon wine hour and fresh cookies. There is no pool on site, but guests can use the pool and hot tub at sister inn Maison Fleurie, two blocks away. One room welcomes dogs.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Chandon, Opus One Winery and Turnbull Wine Cellars are all within about 10 minutes, and St. Helena is about 15 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 36 miles, 60 minutes. The closest airport to Lavender Inn and the easiest arrival: a short drive over the hills from Santa Rosa, with no Bay Area traffic. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 68 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes, and 2 hours or more at busy times. The most flights, with the longest drive, across the Bay Area and up through Napa Valley.

Oakland (OAK): about 60 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO, and a slightly shorter drive.

Sacramento (SMF): about 73 miles, about 1 hour 35 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 15 minutes away. Cabernet at a winery modeled on the ancient Persian city of Persepolis. The Signature Tasting is $80, and the Estate Bar takes walk-ins at $60.
