About the Property

Andaz Napa is a 141-room Hyatt hotel on First Street in the heart of downtown Napa. It was built in 2009 as the Avia Napa and reopened in 2012 as Andaz Napa, the first Andaz in Northern California.

Mercantile Social is the bar and restaurant, with the Mercantile Terrace for outdoor dining on the second floor and Andaz Farmers Table for breakfast. Oxbow Public Market and the Wine Train are within walking distance. Dogs are welcome for a $150 fee per stay, with a bed, bowls and treats provided.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Trefethen Family Vineyards, Darioush and Signorello Estate are all within about 15 minutes, and Yountville is about 20 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Oakland (OAK): about 51 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes. The closest airport to Andaz Napa, and often quieter than SFO.

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 45 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes. Often the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 59 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.

Sacramento (SMF): about 64 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 20 minutes away. Sandwiches, salads and cheeses from the historic Oakville Grocery, open since 1881, eaten at the picnic tables out back. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

12:55 · Robert Mondavi Winery

About 5 minutes away. The Oakville estate Robert Mondavi founded in 1966, reopened in April 2026 after a three-year renovation. The Pioneer Tasting is $60, plus an 18% hospitality fee. Book at least a week ahead for Friday to Sunday.

About 15 minutes away. Home of SOLO Cabernet, on the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District, founded in 1981 by Ron Miller, Diane Disney Miller and Lillian Disney. The Discovery Tasting is $50 and the Estate Collection is $85. Reservations encouraged.

Optional: Frias Family Vineyard

Adds about an hour. Spring Mountain Cabernet from the Frias family, who bought their 100 acres above St. Helena in 1977, poured at their Napa Tasting Salon in north Napa. The tasting is $85, waived with six bottles of Cabernet per couple. Private appointments only.
