About the Winery

Terrill Grigsby built the Occidental Winery here in 1878, a three-story stone gravity-flow winery, and it survives as one of Napa Valley's pre-Prohibition ghost wineries. In 1932 Gaetano Regusci bought the 286-acre ranch.

For decades the family grew grapes and raised cattle, selling fruit to other wineries. In the 1990s Jim Regusci brought winemaking back to the old stone winery for the first time in about a century, and the tasting room opened in 1998. The Regusci family still owns and runs the ranch.

The wines are Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style reds, with Merlot and Zinfandel, poured on the patio and terrace of a working family ranch.

Tasting Fees

$45 for the self-guided Terrace tasting. $65 for the seated, hosted Legacy Patio Tasting and $85 for the Ranch Tour. $125 for the Cellar Lounge library tasting.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
