About the Winery

Robert Mondavi founded his winery in Oakville in 1966, the first major winery built in Napa Valley after Prohibition. Its arch and bell tower, designed by Cliff May, became one of the valley's best-known sights, and Mondavi's push for quality helped put Napa Valley on the world's wine map.

He introduced Fumé Blanc in 1968 and later founded Opus One with Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The winery has been owned by Constellation Brands since 2004, and its To Kalon Vineyard, planted in the 1800s, is now certified organic.

After a three-year renovation by Aidlin Darling Design, the estate reopened on April 20, 2026. The arch and tower were kept, and the tower is now a tasting space. Tastings range from an hour-long flight to a two-hour To Kalon experience.

Tasting Fees

$60 for the Pioneer Tasting, about an hour. $95 for The Mondavi Table, 90 minutes at 11:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. $150 for the Legend Tasting & Tour, 90 minutes, and $180 for the To Kalon Collective, two hours. An 18% hospitality fee is added.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
