About the Property
The Ruse is a small inn on Grove Street in Healdsburg, formerly the Honor Mansion. It centers on an 1883 Victorian set on four landscaped acres at the edge of town, close to Dry Creek Valley.
The grounds have an outdoor pool with lounge chairs, a putting green and bocce, and breakfast is served each morning.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Cartograph Wines, West Wines and Comstock Wines are all within about 5 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 12 miles, 20 minutes. The closest airport to The Ruse, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 84 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 84 miles, 2 hours, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 113 miles, 2 hours 30 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

A Guided Taste of five wines is $35 and runs about an hour. Open Friday to Monday from 10 a.m. and Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m.; book through the winery's website.

About 15 minutes away. A country store and deli on Dry Creek Road since 1881, with made-to-order sandwiches and a front porch for eating outside. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 5 minutes away. Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and single-vineyard Zinfandel from a fourth-generation Dry Creek Valley vintner. A regular Wine Appointment is free for groups of four or fewer; larger groups pay a per-person fee, waived with purchases. Seatings at 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., by appointment.
