About the Winery

George and Linda Unti returned to life on a farm in 1990, planting vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, and started the winery in 1997. George was born in Fort Bragg and worked for Safeway for 39 years before he turned to farming. Unti is owned and run by Mick, Danae, George and Linda Unti, and Mick oversees winemaking, sales and marketing.

The family farms about 60 acres in two parts of Dry Creek Valley: 25 acres on a benchland and 35 around the winery, planted to Mediterranean varieties such as Zinfandel, Syrah, Sangiovese, Grenache, Barbera and Montepulciano, with whites including Vermentino and Fiano. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2003, without herbicides or pesticides. Jason Valenti, a UC Davis graduate, joined as winemaker in 2015, and Unti ferments 45 to 60 small lots each year for about 8,000 to 9,000 cases.

Unti is known for Italian and Rhône varietal wines from its Dry Creek Valley estate. Tastings are educational: you choose six wines, white, rosé and red, and your host talks through where each variety comes from in Europe and how Unti grows and makes it on the estate. Tastings start on the hour.

$25 per person for a tasting of six wines of your choice, waived with a bottle purchase. There is no charge to book the reservation.
