About the Property
Sonoma Bungalows is a small luxury property of eight bungalow houses and suites on West Napa Street, a short walk from Sonoma Plaza. The two-bedroom bungalows run just over 1,700 square feet and the one-bedroom suites just over 700.
Every unit has a full kitchen, and the shared patio has seating, two fire pits and a large fountain. Parking is free.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Corner 103, Pangloss Cellars and WALT Wines pour just off the Plaza, a few minutes' walk away, and the Carneros wineries are about 20 minutes south. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 29 miles, 55 minutes. The closest airport to Sonoma Bungalows, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 60 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 59 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 73 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 20 minutes away. A Howard Backen-designed estate at the entrance to Sonoma, known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Seated Wine Tasting of five wines is $60 and runs about an hour. Open Thursday to Monday.

About 20 minutes away. French country cooking on the Sonoma Plaza, with a Rhône-focused wine list, cheese and charcuterie, and a garden patio. Open from 11:30 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 10 minutes away. Tastings on an oak knoll in a 375-acre park where California premium wine began. The seated Wine Tasting Flight is $45 to $55 and runs 1 hour 15 minutes. Open daily from 11 a.m.

About 10 minutes away. Single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Oregon to Santa Barbara, poured just off the Plaza. The Current Release Tasting is $40, and the Wine & Chocolate Pairing $60. Walk-ins welcome.

Adds about an hour. Private, guided tastings and two-bite food pairings at the corner of the Sonoma Plaza. The Wine Tasting of any five wines is $35 and runs about 90 minutes. By appointment, with the last tasting at 3 p.m., so it works in place of an afternoon stop.
