Wines named for the road that runs through Sonoma Valley, poured in The Barn, the historic J.G. Marcy Stable a step off the plaza, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.

Highway 12 Winery was founded in 2004 by two longtime friends, Paul Giusto and Michael Sebastiani, as part of their company Generations of Sonoma. They started it as family wineries were being bought up by large companies, and named it for Highway 12, the road that runs through Sonoma Valley and Carneros, where vines were first planted two centuries ago, in 1825.
Highway 12 owns no vineyards of its own. Instead it buys from grower partners along the highway, relationships built over decades, and makes 11 varieties under the Highway 12 and Highwayman labels. The aim is wine with a sense of place that is within reach of every table, with a laid-back Sonoma Valley spirit.
The tasting room, The Barn, is a cozy room in the historic J.G. Marcy Stable, tucked off East Napa Street a short walk from the Sonoma Plaza. Flights of Highway 12 and Highwayman wines take about an hour, and it is an easy, unhurried way to start a day in Sonoma.
$25 per person for a tasting flight of Highway 12 and Highwayman wines, about an hour, paid at the visit.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
