About the Property

North Block Yountville is a 20-room hotel at the north end of Washington Street, with villa-style buildings set around a central courtyard and fountain. Rooms have ground-floor patios or upstairs balconies, and some have fireplaces. The Michelin Guide awards it two Michelin Keys.

There is a heated pool and hot tub with cabanas, the Spa at North Block and North Block Restaurant on site. A continental breakfast, a welcome pour and an evening nightcap are included, along with cruiser bikes for the Napa Valley Vine Trail. Dogs are welcome for a fee.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Opus One Winery, Turnbull Wine Cellars and Chandon are all within about 10 minutes, and St. Helena is about 15 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 36 miles, 60 minutes. The closest airport to North Block Hotel and the easiest arrival: a short drive over the hills from Santa Rosa, with no Bay Area traffic. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 68 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes, and 2 hours or more at busy times. The most flights, with the longest drive, across the Bay Area and up through Napa Valley.

Oakland (OAK): about 60 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO, and a slightly shorter drive.

Sacramento (SMF): about 74 miles, about 1 hour 35 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
