The Metro Hotel & Cafe is a French-themed boutique hotel in a building from 1870 on Petaluma Boulevard South, within walking distance of historic downtown Petaluma. Guests stay in king and queen rooms, two-room suites, vintage Airstream travel trailers or a two-story cottage.
Many rooms have clawfoot tubs, smart TVs and minibars. The in-house cafe serves a breakfast with homemade crepes for hotel guests from 8 to 10 a.m., and evenings bring a fire pit with s'mores. There are two petanque courts, bicycle rentals and a conference room.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Adobe Road Winery, Parum Leo Winery and McEvoy Ranch are all within about 15 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 25 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to the Metro Hotel, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 52 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 52 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 84 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
