Luis Robledo and his sons came to California from Michoacán, Mexico, in 1942 under the Bracero program and became skilled vineyard workers and grape grafters. His grandson Reynaldo arrived in 1968 at 16 and was a vineyard foreman within two years. He married María de La Luz Ramírez in 1970, and in 1984 they bought their first 13 acres, on the Napa side of Los Carneros, and planted Pinot Noir.
Reynaldo and María founded Robledo Family Winery in Sonoma with their nine children in 1997, which the family describes as the first winery in the United States founded by Mexican vineyard workers on their own land. The family farms more than a dozen estate vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and Lake counties. Their son Everardo, the CEO, is winemaker, and the family's Robledo Cellars in Sonoma makes all the wines, from the Los Braceros red blend to Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
The tasting room opened in 2002, and members of the family often host. Flights include the Estate Release Tasting, a Private Release Tasting that opens with the Los Carneros Chardonnay the family says has been served at the White House, a Sweet & Bubbly flight, and a Reserve Tasting of four Napa Valley Cabernets.
$40 plus tax for the Estate Release Tasting of an estate white, a rosé and two estate reds. $45 for the Private Release Tasting or the Sweet & Bubbly Tasting. $60 for the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting of four Napa Valley reserve Cabernets.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
