Arturo and Deborah Keller planted their first Chardonnay here in 1989. Arturo, born and raised in Mexico City, had built a business supplying seats to carmakers; his Swiss family had settled in Mexico in the early 1900s, and Keller means cellar in German. Their daughter Ana joined in 1998, moved from Mexico to the property, and the first vintage followed in 2000.
The estate runs about 680 acres from Tolay Park to the Petaluma River, with 40 planted to vines and 36 to olives. La Cruz Vineyard, the first planting, sits on calcium-rich adobe clay above the river, and El Coro crowns the ridge at 1,100 feet with nine clones of Pinot Noir. The family helped lead the growers' effort that won AVA status for the Petaluma Gap in 2017, and began farming organically in 2022.
The winery was designed by the Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta, and the wines carry Spanish names to honor the family's Mexican heritage, with labels showing Grace Keller's artwork. Guided tastings of Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Syrah look out over the vineyards, with empanadas to order, and the Terroir Experience tours the gravity-flow winery and barrel cave.
$50 for the Estate Experience, a guided tasting of five estate wines, about 60 minutes, waived with a two-bottle purchase. $75 for the Terroir Experience, a 90-minute tour of the winery, barrel cave and grounds with six wines and empanadas, waived with three bottles. $35 per table for the Vista Experience. Empanadas add $15.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

A cool, windy appellation in southern Sonoma and northern Marin counties, where a gap in the coastal hills funnels fog and wind from the Pacific toward San Pablo Bay. It became an AVA in 2017, with the Keller family among the growers who worked for it.
