Kevin and Debra Buckler founded Adobe Road Winery in Sonoma County in 2002. Kevin is a professional race car driver and team owner who started The Racers Group in 1992, with wins that include the Rolex 24 at Daytona. In 2008 the winery moved to Petaluma, near the racing team's headquarters.
Adobe Road buys fruit from vineyards across Sonoma and Napa: Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma and Napa Valley, Syrah and Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley, and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley and the Petaluma Gap. Winemaker Garrett Martin works closely with Kevin on the wines, including the Racing Series blends.
The tasting room is in downtown Petaluma rather than among vineyards, close to the town's hotels, restaurants and theaters, with a shaded courtyard and live music on Thursday and Saturday. The Argus-Courier named it the best tasting room in Petaluma.
$40 for the Classic Tasting of current releases, $50 for the Racing Series Tasting and $60 for the Reserve Tasting of single-varietal wines from Sonoma and Napa vineyards.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

About 30 minutes away. Nan McEvoy's organic olive ranch, founded in 1990, with small-lot wines poured on a patio among the olive orchards. Wine flights are $30 to $48, and olive oil tastings $35. Open daily, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
About 15 minutes away. A bakery café in downtown Petaluma, known for its bread and pastry, with a café menu for lunch. Open Thursday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 5 minutes away. The Classic Tasting ($40), Racing Series Tasting ($50) or Reserve Tasting ($60), in the tasting room or the courtyard.
Back in Petaluma by 3:30 p.m., within six hours of pickup.
