About the Property

Little Bohemian is a reimagined 1960s-era roadside getaway in the village of Occidental, surrounded by the redwoods of west Sonoma County. It is due to open in January 2027, with its hillside houses following in spring 2027.

Rooms come in three kinds: garden rooms, terrace rooms and the hillside houses. Once open, guests will have a pool deck and a pool house with a sauna, and the village's restaurants and bars are a short walk away.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Black Kite Cellars in Freestone is about 5 minutes away, and Square Peg Winery and Marimar Estate are about 10. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 15 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to Little Bohemian, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

Oakland (OAK): about 79 miles, 2 hours. Often a quieter airport than SFO.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 79 miles, 2 hours 5 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.

Sacramento (SMF): about 111 miles, 2 hours 45 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 15 minutes away. Cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Gloria and Yu-ki estate vineyards, poured in the winery's cave or a redwood grove. The private Estate Cave Tasting is $50, about an hour, Friday to Sunday. By appointment only.

11:35 · Lunch at Handline

About 15 minutes away. Casual, seasonal cooking from Sonoma County land and sea on the south side of Sebastopol, with open-air seating. Open daily from 11 a.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 10 minutes away. Estate Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Syrah, from a family winery on Vine Hill Road founded in 1975. The Discover Dehlinger Tasting is $45. By appointment, for 1 to 6 guests.

2:15 · Furthermore Wines

About 5 minutes away. Single-vineyard Pinot Noir from coastal California, including its Graton Ridge and Nevina's estate vineyards. A tasting is $30, refunded with a two-bottle purchase. Book ahead; open daily.

About 20 minutes away. Back by 4:00 p.m., six hours after pickup.

Optional: Taft Street Winery

Adds about an hour. Small-production Russian River Valley wines, including Pinot Noir, from a Sebastopol winery founded in 1979. A tasting is $15. Walk-ins welcome Saturday and Sunday; weekdays by appointment.
