About the Winery

Marimar Torres was born in Barcelona in 1945 into the Torres wine family of Spain, whose business was founded in 1870. She moved to San Francisco in 1975, bought this property in the Green Valley in 1983 and began planting Chardonnay in 1986, followed by Pinot Noir in 1988. Her daughter, Cristina Torres, became general manager in 2023.

The home vineyard is named Don Miguel for Marimar's father. In 2002 she planted the Doña Margarita Vineyard, named for her mother, entirely to Pinot Noir on the West Sonoma Coast between Freestone and Occidental. Her first wine was a barrel-fermented 1989 Chardonnay, and her first Pinot Noir followed in 1992.

The estate was inaugurated in 1993 and pours its wines with a Spanish accent: the Tapas & Wine Pairing matches five wines with Spanish recipes, and the Collector's Tasting adds a cellar tour, library vintages and Spanish cheeses. Walk-ins are welcome for the seated Estate Tasting on the patio or in the tasting room.

Tasting Fees

$35 for the seated Estate Tasting, 45 minutes to an hour. $65 for the Tapas & Wine Pairing of five wines, 1 to 1.5 hours. $90 for the Collector's Tasting with a cellar tour and six wines, 1 to 1.5 hours. $150 for the Estate Walking Tour, 1.5 to 2 hours.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
