About the Property
Carlin Cottages, also known as Carlin's Cottage Court, is a family-owned cottage court on Lake Street, four blocks from downtown Calistoga. Dennis and Lorrie Carlin bought the property in 1994, their children helped renovate it, and their youngest daughter, Gena, has managed it since 2017.
The cottages sleep two to six guests, and kitchenettes and in-room soaking tubs are available. There is a pool, a hot tub and barbecues on the property, with air conditioning and Wi-Fi in every room, and all rooms are non-smoking.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Olabisi Wines, Picayune Cellars and Tank Garage are a short walk away, and Schramsberg and Frank Family Vineyards are a short drive away. We are based in Calistoga too.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 19 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to Carlin Cottages, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 78 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 86 miles, 2 hours, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 91 miles, 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
