About the Winery

Field Vineyards is a family label built on three decades of grape growing. The late Katarina "Nina" Field, originally from Sweden, bought the family's first vineyard in Alexander Valley in 1993, now called Vineyard Katarina and planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. She went on to plant Foggy Owl Vineyard in the Russian River Valley and to buy Elk Pond Vineyard in Mendocino.

The family were mainly growers until they started the FIELD label in 2020. The wines lean fresh and approachable: a Chablis-style Chardonnay that won Best in Class at the 2026 San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition, a Burgundian-style Pinot Noir, a still orange wine and a sparkling orange wine, a chillable red and a méthode champenoise Blanc de Blancs.

The tasting room is in Napa Valley, at the Depot Wine Collective in the historic Calistoga Depot, built in 1868. Guests taste a curated flight of FIELD wines inside a remodeled train car from the 1800s, with restaurants and live music on the same property. We confirm current details when we book.

Tasting Fees

$35 per person for a tasting experience at the Calistoga Depot. Complimentary for wine club members, for 2 or 4 people depending on the club. We confirm the current price when we book.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
