Ted and Kim Osborne started making wine under the Olabisi label in 2002. Ted came to wine late, an English major who took a harvest job at Cakebread in 1995, then worked harvests in Australia, South Africa and Bordeaux. He was associate winemaker at Storybook Mountain when he and Kim bottled their first Olabisi vintage, a 2000 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, and he turned to the family label full time in 2007.
Olabisi makes fewer than 1,000 cases a year, bought from single vineyards and farmers the Osbornes admire, and the winery describes its approach as creative and unorthodox. Kim, who came to Napa Valley to design wine labels, created the bold Olabisi label they still use today.
The tasting room sits on Washington Street in downtown Calistoga, a short walk from Lincoln Avenue. The standard visit is a six-wine sampler flight, and a private tasting guided by the winemaker is available by appointment. Ted also leads Ride With A Winemaker cycling outings, with Vine Trail Adventures, which won a 2025 Great Wine Capitals Best Of award for innovative wine tourism.
$40 for the Six Wine Sampler Flight. $75 for the Private Winemaker-Guided Tasting, by appointment only.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
