The Calistoga Inn is a casual, historic inn and restaurant on Lincoln Avenue in downtown Calistoga, in a building dating to 1887. Its restaurant is home to the Napa Valley Brewing Company, which has brewed beer since 1987 in the inn's original water tower, the first commercial brewery in Napa County since Prohibition.
Seventeen simple rooms upstairs in the main building each have a queen bed and a sink and share bathrooms down the hall, and a separate cottage has a king bed and a private bath. The inn is air-conditioned, and rooms have no phones or TVs. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on the patio.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Chateau Montelena, Sterling and Schramsberg are all within about 10 minutes, and La Sirena and Tank Garage are a few blocks away. We are based in Calistoga too.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 19 miles, 35 minutes. The closest airport to Calistoga Inn, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 78 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 85 miles, 2 hours, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 91 miles, 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
