About the Winery

Dale and Marla Bleecher established Jericho Canyon in 1989, after three years of searching, on a former cattle ranch at the northeast end of Napa Valley. Both had lived in Italy before they met. The family still owns it, and their son Nick, a UC Davis graduate in viticulture and enology, has made the wines since 2015.

The vineyard climbs steep terraces between Mount St. Helena and the Palisades, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc in volcanic gravelly clay loam. Summer days often reach 100 degrees and nights drop to about 50. The wines are made in a Bordeaux style in small lots, and the French consultant Michel Rolland has advised the estate since 2010.

Visits are by appointment, with a small number of guests each day. The estate tasting starts with a Polaris ATV ride through the terraces and a walk through the winery and caves. Then you sit down to taste, on a shaded terrace, in the tasting room above the vines or in the cave, depending on the season.

Tasting Fees

$100 for the Private Estate Tasting, with an ATV vineyard tour, about 75 minutes (waived with a purchase of 3 bottles of red wine per person). $200 for the Reserve Tasting of reserve and library vintages, about 75 minutes (waived with a purchase of 6 bottles of red wine per person).

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
