NewTree Ranch is a 120-acre private estate among rolling hills and redwoods outside Healdsburg. Founder Edward Newell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, began it as a modest homestead in 2016, and it has grown into a working, regenerative ranch with organic gardens and an orchard.
Guests book one of two villas, the Estate Villa for up to 8 or the Barn Villa for up to 4, or both for up to 12. There is a solar-heated pool, a fitness studio, trails, and paddle boards and kayaks on the ranch's lake, with private chef dinners and concierge service on request. Pets are welcome.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Mill Creek Vineyards & Winery, DaVero Farms and Winery and Flowers Vineyards & Winery are all within about 20 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 14 miles, 30 minutes. The closest airport to NewTree Ranch, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 86 miles, 2 hours 10 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 86 miles, 2 hours 15 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 119 miles, 2 hours 50 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
