About the Property
Calistoga Spa Hot Springs is a hot springs resort a block from Lincoln Avenue in downtown Calistoga. Formerly Calistoga Hot Sulfur Springs, it has run as a hot springs resort since the early 1900s, on a geothermal field fed by its own mineral well.
Guests have full use of four outdoor pools of natural geothermal mineral water, from 84 to 104 degrees and open daily 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with an adults-only jet pool. The spa offers volcanic ash mud baths and massage, and there is a fitness center with yoga classes. Every room has a kitchenette, and parking is free.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Sterling, Clos Pegase and Schramsberg are all within about 10 minutes, and the tasting rooms on Lincoln Avenue are a short walk. We are based in Calistoga too.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 19 miles, 35 minutes. The closest airport to Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 78 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 86 miles, 2 hours, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 91 miles, 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
