About the Property

Bardessono opened in 2009 on the Bardessono family's land, a block off Washington Street in the heart of Yountville. It is LEED Platinum certified, with geothermal heating and cooling and rooftop solar, and stone from the family's old wine cellar was reused on its walls. The Michelin Guide awards it two Michelin Keys.

Suites have gas fireplaces, soaking tubs and steam showers, and the bathrooms double as treatment rooms for in-room spa services. There is a rooftop pool with cabanas, three villas with private plunge pools, and Lucy Restaurant & Bar, which cooks with produce from the hotel's own garden. Dogs are welcome for a fee.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Chandon, Opus One Winery and Turnbull Wine Cellars are all within about 10 minutes, and St. Helena is about 20 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 36 miles, 60 minutes. The closest airport to Bardessono and the easiest arrival: a short drive over the hills from Santa Rosa, with no Bay Area traffic. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 68 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes, and 2 hours or more at busy times. The most flights, with the longest drive, across the Bay Area and up through Napa Valley.

Oakland (OAK): about 60 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO, and a slightly shorter drive.

Sacramento (SMF): about 73 miles, about 1 hour 35 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 15 minutes away. Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon from the terraced slopes of the Stags Leap District. The Collectors Experience is $140. By appointment only.

About 15 minutes away. Sparkling wine at Chandon's Yountville estate, a few minutes from the hotel. Flights start at $53.
