About the Property
Vineyard Valley Inn is a 15-room inn on North Cloverdale Boulevard in Cloverdale, the northernmost town in Sonoma County wine country, just off Highway 101 and about 15 minutes from Lake Sonoma.
Rooms are done in warm earth tones, with flat-screen TVs, a refrigerator and microwave, and free wifi, and parking is free.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Peay Vineyards' winery is about 5 minutes away, Geyserville's wineries are about 15 minutes south, and Ferrari-Carano at the top of Dry Creek Valley is about 20. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 28 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to Vineyard Valley Inn, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 100 miles, 2 hours 15 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 100 miles, 2 hours 25 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 125 miles, 2 hours 45 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 5 minutes away. Four generations of one family on the hills above Geyserville since 1927, known for Dry Creek Zinfandel and Cabernet. Seated tastings run $25 to $35. Closed Tuesday; last seating 3:30 p.m.

About 10 minutes away. A family winery at the quiet north end of Alexander Valley, with Zinfandel vines planted in 1908 and outdoor seating over the vineyard. The Wine Flight is $20. Monday to Saturday, final seating 3 p.m.
