About the Winery

Dutcher Crossing was started by the Stevens and Nevins families with founding winemaker Kerry Damskey. Debra Mathy bought it in 2007, fulfilling a lifelong wish to own a Sonoma County winery; it came with 35 acres and five wines. The penny-farthing bicycle on the label is a nod to her passion as a cyclist and collector, and a tribute to her father, who encouraged her to follow her dreams.

Under Debra the winery has grown to more than thirty wines from Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties and 75 acres of estate-designated vineyards. Winemaker Nick Briggs and vineyard manager Enrique Reyes now carry the work forward, and the estate is farmed sustainably and runs on solar power.

The winery is built in a classic 1900s farmhouse style on 35 acres where Dry Creek and Dutcher Creek meet, the crossing that gives it its name. Guests love to walk through the breezeway for the view over the northern end of the valley, then settle on the patio or the lawn; it is picnic friendly, dogs are welcome, and Lady, the resident Labrador, greets visitors most days.

Tasting Fees

Dutcher Crossing does not publish its tasting fees; they are confirmed when the reservation is made.
