John Pedroncelli Sr. bought a vineyard and a small winery on the hills west of Geyserville in 1927. Through Prohibition the family sold grapes to home winemakers, and after repeal they made wine under the property's original Bonded Winery #113, selling it by the barrel and the gallon. His sons John and Jim bought the winery from him in 1963. John Pedroncelli Jr. was winemaker from 1948 until his death in 2015, 67 vintages, and Jim ran sales.
The 47-acre Home Ranch around the winery is planted mostly to head-trained Zinfandel, including the Mother Clone block of century-old vines that supplied budwood when the ranch was replanted. The family also farms the East Side Vineyards along Dry Creek, planted to Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux varieties. Montse Reece became winemaker in 2015, only the third in the winery's history and the first woman, and the third generation now owns the winery, 70 percent of it women-owned.
Pedroncelli is known for Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon from its family vineyards. Tastings are seated, with a choice of three flights, in the tasting room or on the outdoor patio when the weather allows.
$25 to $35 per person for a seated tasting of one of three flights. Club members and two guests per membership taste free.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
