About the Property
Sonoma's Best Cottages are four private cottages at Sonoma's Best, a market, deli and wine shop on East Napa Street that has been a local favorite for more than 100 years. They are about a mile east of the Sonoma Plaza, with wineries all around.
The cottages sleep two to four, with queen beds and premium linens. Cottage 1, the largest, has a private patio, and Cottage 3 has a fully equipped kitchen. The market's deli opens at 7 a.m. every day.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Three Sticks Wines, Sebastiani and Buena Vista are all within about 5 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 30 miles, 55 minutes. The closest airport to Sonoma's Best Cottages, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 59 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 60 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 72 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
