About the Winery

Bill Price, known as "Billy Three Sticks," began his wine career in 1997 when he bought the Durell Vineyard. He founded Three Sticks in 2002 with Prema Kerollis, who had worked with him at his investment firm, Texas Pacific Group, and she remains co-founder and president of the family-owned winery.

Three Sticks is fully estate: it owns and farms every vineyard it makes wine from, six in all, and focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Durell, which spans the Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast and Carneros appellations, Gap's Crown in the Petaluma Gap and Walala on the far Sonoma Coast are joined by three smaller, organically farmed sites planted for Three Sticks: One Sky, Alana and William James. Ryan Prichard joined as winemaker in 2015 alongside Bob Cabral and has led the winemaking since 2021.

Tastings are held a block off the Sonoma Plaza in the Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe, built in 1842 by Salvador Vallejo, brother of General Mariano Vallejo. Bill and Eva Price bought it in 2012 and spent two years preserving it, with interiors by San Francisco designer Ken Fulk, and finds from an archaeological dig on the site are on display. Every visit is a private, hosted tasting by reservation.

Tasting Fees

$85 for the Taste of Three Sticks, a guided flight of estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. $95 for A Sense of Place, a tasting of wines from a single estate vineyard, starting with Durell. $115 for the Collectors Tasting of monopole and library wines and $125 for The Adobe Table lunch with paired wines, each with 72 hours' notice. $250 for the Storehouse Luncheon, booked a week ahead.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
