About the Winery

Sojourn Cellars began in 2001 as a project between two tennis friends, Craig Haserot and Erich Bradley, who shared a love of the game and of great wine. Erich, then an assistant winemaker at Arrowood, had moved to Sonoma in 1998, studied winemaking at UC Davis and learned from Richard Arrowood and David Ramey. The first vintage was just over a hundred cases of Cabernet Sauvignon, sold to friends and family.

Today Sojourn makes 21 wines, all Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, from vineyards on the Sonoma Coast, in the Russian River Valley and the Petaluma Gap and in Napa Valley, with a hands-off style that lets each site show. Erich is still the winemaker, now director of winemaking, spends much of his time in the vineyards with the growers, and describes his style as "New World with Old World sensibilities." Much of the wine goes to the allocation list and the wine club.

The Tasting Salon, just off the historic Sonoma Plaza, is built around comparison: you sit down and taste the same variety from different regions side by side, which guests find the clearest way to see what a vineyard does to Pinot Noir. Tastings take about an hour, and food and wine pairings can be arranged by phone. Restaurants and shops are steps away, and it makes a calm first stop before we head out to Carneros.

Tasting Fees

$45 for the seated Comparative Tasting of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon across regions, about 60 minutes, for 1 to 10 guests.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
