Silverado Resort is a golf and spa resort of about 1,200 acres on Atlas Peak Road. It grew up around a mid-1800s mansion built by General John Miller and became a resort in the late 1960s, and its rooms and suites are spread across neighborhoods such as Cottage Drive and the Mansion Residences.
There are two 18-hole championship golf courses, North and South, plus tennis and pickleball courts. The Spa at Silverado has a lap pool, sauna, steam and whirlpool. Dining includes The Grill, the Mansion Bar & Terrace in the historic mansion, Silverado Market & Bakery and Forno Pizza. No pets, except service animals.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Darioush, Signorello Estate and Clos du Val are all within about 10 minutes, and Yountville is about 25 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.
Oakland (OAK): about 55 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes. The closest airport to Silverado Resort, and often quieter than SFO.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 44 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes. Often the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 62 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 68 miles, 1 hour 35 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
