About the Property
The Grand Reserve is the sister property of The Meritage Resort & Spa at the south end of Napa, across the street from the main resort. It opened as Vista Collina and took its current name in December 2022.
It has 145 rooms and suites, many of the suites with full kitchens and balconies, and its own pool and hot tub, heated year-round. Guests share The Meritage's Spa Terra, restaurants and bowling alley, and The Village next door has tasting rooms, a brewery and a grocery. Pet-friendly rooms are available for a fee.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Trinitas Cellars, Ackerman Family Vineyards and Saintsbury are all within about 10 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Oakland (OAK): about 48 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes. The closest airport to The Grand Reserve at The Meritage, and often a quieter airport than SFO.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 48 miles, 1 hour 15 minutes. A small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 56 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 61 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 10 minutes away. A Napa Valley institution on Highway 29 since 1983, where winemakers lunch alongside visitors. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 10 minutes away. Estate Petite Sirah and Stags Leap District Cabernet in a colorful building by the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The seated Estate Tasting with a cheese plate is $80. By appointment only.

About 10 minutes away. An Oak Knoll family estate and its 1886 winery, known for Chardonnay, Riesling and Cabernet. Winery Flights are $45, about an hour. Reservations required and prepaid.
