About the Property

Bella Luna Inn is a house built in 1909 for Frank and Myra Hazen on Healdsburg Avenue, after their first house burned in 1908. The current owners opened it as a bed and breakfast in 2011, with three private suites and a cottage.

A full breakfast is included at Costeaux French Bakery, a two-minute walk away. The grounds have a heated pool, open May to November for guests 18 and over, a putting green and gardens with fruit trees. Each room takes up to two guests, and pets are not allowed.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Rockpile Vineyards, Hirsch Vineyards and Stonestreet Estate Vineyards are all within about 10 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 11 miles, 20 minutes. The closest airport to Bella Luna Inn, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

Oakland (OAK): about 83 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 83 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.

Sacramento (SMF): about 114 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 10 minutes away. Scion Cabernet blend and Clone 17 Chardonnay from a family ranch in Alexander Valley since 1858. The Intro Flight is $25 and the 90-minute Estate Flight $50. By appointment; closed Tuesday.

Adds about an hour. Mountain-grown Cabernet and Chardonnay from 5,300 acres in the Alexander Valley highlands. The Single-Vineyard Tasting with small bites is $85 and takes 90 minutes. By reservation.
