Jess Stonestreet Jackson and Barbara Banke, both land-use attorneys before they turned to wine full time, established Stonestreet Estate Vineyards in 1995. Jackson had founded Kendall-Jackson in 1982. The name honors a Southern country doctor and family friend who delivered Christopher Jackson's grandfather, and Stonestreet has been a family middle name for four generations. Christopher, their son, and his wife, Ariel, guide the estate today.
The Stonestreet Mountain Estate covers 5,300 acres on the west side of the Mayacamas range, with 170 micro-vineyards from 400 to 2,400 feet in 26 soil types, and about 85 percent of the land left unplanted. The focus is Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, including Upper Barn Chardonnay and Christopher's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Kristina Shideler joined in 2012 and has been head winemaker since 2022.
The winery and tasting room sit on the valley floor off Highway 128, facing the mountain. The Single-Vineyard Tasting pairs four current releases, each from a different vineyard on the estate, with small bites from the culinary team. The three-hour Mountain Excursion drives guests up through the vineyards to taste the wines where they grow.
$85 for the Single-Vineyard Tasting of four wines with small bites, 90 minutes, complimentary for wine club members. $135 for the Collectors Tasting, seated privately in the Mountain Room, 90 minutes. From $210 for the three-hour Mountain Excursion, a private driving tour of the estate for up to 6 guests.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
