About the Property
The Trailside Inn is a 1930s farmhouse on the Silverado Trail south of Calistoga, with three country-style suites: Dutch Henry, Sam Brannan and Firebelle Lilly.
Each suite has a private entrance, porch, bedroom, bath and full kitchen, stocked with home-baked bread and breakfast fixings to make at your leisure, and a bottle of Napa Valley wine on arrival. There is a pool and hot tub and a barbecue, and the inn is pet friendly and welcomes children.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Davis Estates, Larkmead Vineyards and Frank Family Vineyards are all within about 5 minutes. We are based in Calistoga too.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 23 miles, 45 minutes. The closest airport to Trailside Inn, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 76 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 83 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 89 miles, 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 10 minutes away. Seasonal American cooking at Indian Springs, named for Calistoga founder Sam Brannan and open to the public. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 10 minutes away. Traditional-method sparkling wine and historic hillside caves, in Calistoga since 1862. The cave tour with the classic tasting is $100, about an hour. By appointment only.
