About the Property
The R3 Hotel is a 23-room hotel in the village of Guerneville, a gay-owned and operated LGBTQIA+ getaway for more than four decades that welcomes everyone. It was originally built as a drive-in motor lodge and keeps its U-shaped layout, with the rooms set around a central pool and bar.
The Main Bar has an original old-growth redwood ceiling, and the Baked on the River restaurant is on site. In summer a seasonal pool bar and outdoor grill serve the sun deck, with live entertainment on the outdoor stage in the evenings.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Korbel Champagne Cellars, Porter-Bass and Ryme Cellars are all within about 15 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 15 miles, 35 minutes. The closest airport to The R3 Hotel, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 82 miles, 2 hours 5 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 83 miles, 2 hours 10 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 112 miles, 2 hours 50 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 10 minutes away. Small-lot Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from one of California's first gravity-flow wineries. The Classic Wine Tasting is $40, waived with the purchase of two bottles per person. Open daily from 11 a.m.; walk-ins welcome when there is room.
