About the Property
Stanly Ranch is an Auberge Collection resort on a 712-acre working vineyard ranch in Carneros, with 2.5 miles of Napa River frontage. The ranch was founded in 1856 by Judge Edward Stanly, and the resort opened in 2022 with 135 guestrooms, suites, villas and Vineyard Homes of up to six bedrooms. The Michelin Guide awards it one Michelin Key.
Bear is the signature restaurant, with Gavel café and market, Basin Bar by the pool and in-room dining. The Halehouse spa includes the Springhouse for hydrotherapy and the Fieldhouse movement studio, and road bicycles are available to guests. Up to two dogs of any size are welcome in each room, and children are welcome too.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Saintsbury, Domaine Carneros and Etude Wines are all within about 20 minutes, and Yountville is about 35 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, at the north end of the valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Oakland (OAK): about 51 miles, 1 hour 10 minutes. The closest airport to Stanly Ranch, and often quieter than SFO.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 46 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes. Often the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 59 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 64 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 15 minutes away. A food hall of local vendors in downtown Napa, from oysters to tacos, with tables inside and on the riverside deck. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
12:50 · Maldonado Vineyards
About 10 minutes away. A small family winery led by Hugo Maldonado, whose father Lupe managed vineyards at Newton for more than 30 years, with a tasting room in south Napa. Tastings are $35 and $45, Fridays and Saturdays. Appointments recommended.
2:20 · Etude Wines
About 20 minutes away. Carneros Pinot Noir from Grace Benoist Ranch and single-vineyard Napa Cabernet, at the winery Tony Soter founded in 1982 on Cuttings Wharf Road. Tastings run $55 to $95. Appointments recommended, and walk-ins are welcome.

Adds about an hour. Traditional-method sparkling wine and estate Pinot Noir, founded by the Taittinger family of Champagne in 1987 in Los Carneros. The daily tasting is from $45, with pairings and tours $80 to $125. Reservations required.
