About the Winery

Artesa began in 1991 as Codorníu Napa, the California sparkling wine house of Spain's Codorníu, and was renamed Artesa later that decade. In September 2026 the winery was sold to Jean-Charles Boisset, who has said the Artesa name will stay.

The winery is one of the most striking in Carneros: built into a hilltop with an earth-covered roof, cascading fountains and reflecting pools, and views across the vineyards to San Pablo Bay. Art by Gordon Huether, artist in residence since 1997, fills the grounds.

Artesa farms about 350 acres in Carneros and on Mount Veeder, and is known for Carneros Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, sparkling wine and Spanish varieties.

Tasting Fees

$80 for the Artisanal Tasting and $105 for the Taste of Artesa. $150 for the Cellar Tour & Tasting or El Jardín Español, and $180 for Bubbles & Caviar.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
