About the Property
Ocean Cove Lodge is a 16-room hotel on Highway 1 on the far Sonoma Coast, north of Fort Ross, set among eucalyptus at the ocean's edge. It is one of the most remote places to stay in Sonoma County, with coastal trails nearby.
The lodge has its own bar and grill serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a night-lit outdoor pool and billiards. Select rooms have ocean views, balconies or private outdoor hot tubs.
It is also a dramatic place to start a coastal wine tour. Fort Ross Vineyard & Winery is about 30 minutes away, and the Russian River wineries around Guerneville about an hour. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 45 miles, 1 hour 20 minutes. The closest airport to Ocean Cove Lodge, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 106 miles, 2 hours 40 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 107 miles, 2 hours 50 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 138 miles, 3 hours 30 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
