Mine + Farm

About the Property

Mine + Farm is an adults-only bed and breakfast on a historic ranch built in 1906, about three miles outside downtown Guerneville. Its nine rooms are in the main farmhouse and an adjacent carriage house, and the inn runs on about 80 percent solar power.

Breakfast is included each morning, made with ingredients from the inn's gardens. There is a hot tub, fire pits and a fireplace lounge. Dogs are welcome in the Carriage House rooms only, for a fee.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Korbel Champagne Cellars, Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery and Porter Creek Vineyards are all within about 15 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 12 miles, 25 minutes. The closest airport to Mine + Farm, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

Oakland (OAK): about 84 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 84 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.

Sacramento (SMF): about 116 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 20 minutes away. Single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and old-vine Zinfandel, poured at private patio tables in Forestville. The Vineyard Exploration of five wines is $60. By appointment, with walk-ins when space allows.

11:45 · Lunch at Willow Wood Market Cafe

About 15 minutes away. A café, soda fountain and general store at the center of Graton since 1995, serving down-home comfort food. Lunch from 11:30 a.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 15 minutes away. Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Endless Crush rosé from owner and winemaker Kathleen Inman. The Estate Tasting is $30. Thursday to Monday; book online or by phone.

About 10 minutes away. Jackass Hill Zinfandel and estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a family farming in the Russian River Valley since the 1880s. The Hop Barn Tasting is $25 and the Vineyard Terrace Tasting $50. Reservations recommended.

Optional: Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery

Adds about an hour. Single-vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, poured outdoors on Westside Road. The Discovery Tasting is $55 and runs about 90 minutes. Reservations encouraged.
