About the Winery

Tom Baker established Thomas George Estates in 2008, when he bought the winery and vineyards of Davis Bynum on Westside Road. Bynum was a Russian River Valley pioneer, and the winery says he made the region's first single-vineyard Pinot Noir on this site. Thomas George is family owned and operated.

The wines come from the family's estate vineyards, including Baker Ridge, 40 acres in the Middle Reach first planted in 1976 on a ridge above neighbors such as Williams Selyem and Rochioli; Cresta Ridge in the Green Valley, established in 1999 by Gary Farrell; and Sons & Daughters Ranch in the Chalk Hill area, with Zinfandel vines planted in 1885. Since the 2017 vintage the winery has made only single-vineyard and single-block wines, often just a few dozen to a few hundred cases of each.

In 2010 caves were dug into the hillside beside the winery for barrel aging and tastings, rare on Westside Road. Visits range from the Estate Tasting with a sparkling welcome pour and estate-made arancini, to seated reserve tastings in the cave or the garden, to a Wine Safari up Baker Ridge in a vintage Pinzgauer. The estate also rents guest houses.

Tasting Fees

$40 for the Estate Tasting of five wines with estate-made arancini and a sparkling welcome pour ($50 for groups of 9 or more). $75 for the seated Single Vineyard Reserve Tasting of six wines with estate-made tacos, in the garden or the cave ($90 for groups of 9 or more). $125 for the Wine-Paired Brunch, $250 for the Wine Safari with a four-course lunch at Baker Ridge, and $395 for the Five-Course Wine-Paired Dinner in the cave, Friday to Sunday.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

About $140 to $175 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
