About the Winery

Joe Rochioli Sr. came to America in 1911 from a village near Lucca, Italy, and as a boy worked on Wohler Ranch in the Russian River Valley. In the mid-1930s the family moved to Fenton Acres on Westside Road, the land Rochioli farms today, and bought it in the 1950s. His grandson Tom persuaded the family to make wine under its own name, and in 1983 Fenton Acres became Rochioli Vineyards, with Tom as business manager and soon winemaker.

The Rochiolis planted Sauvignon Blanc in 1959, and those vines still produce, among the oldest Sauvignon Blanc in California. Joe Jr. began planting Pinot Noir from French clones in 1968, when little was known about the grape here, and the family sold fruit to Davis Bynum and later Williams Selyem; Gary Farrell's first wines, in 1982, used Rochioli grapes. Rochioli's first estate wine, the 1985 Pinot Noir, topped Wine Spectator's list of Pinot Noir.

Visits are small and seated, overlooking the estate's Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, with patio seating from May through September. The Estate Flight pours three or four estate wines, and the pour changes through the year with what the winery has available.

Tasting Fees

$25 for the Estate Flight of three or four estate wines, with one fee refunded when you buy 2 or more bottles. Allow 60 to 90 minutes.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
