About the Property

Cottages on River Road is a family-run cottage motor court on River Road in Guerneville. It has queen and king studios, a King Suite, a one-bedroom kitchen cottage and two-bedroom cottages, set around a central garden lawn with patios.

A continental breakfast is included each morning, and there is a campfire every night with free s'mores. The pool is open from May to October. Dogs are welcome for a fee if booked ahead.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Korbel Champagne Cellars, Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery and Porter Creek Vineyards are all within about 20 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 14 miles, 30 minutes. The closest airport to Cottages on River Road, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

About 15 minutes away. Cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, including single-vineyard wines, on Westside Road. The Signature Experience of five wines is $50 and runs 1 to 2 hours. Reservations required.

About 10 minutes away. Estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from old vines on Westside Road, made by owner Alex Davis. The Grand Tasting is $50, waived with a 2-bottle purchase. Book ahead, or walk in as space allows.

Adds about an hour. Estate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and some of California's oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines, on Westside Road. The Estate Flight is $25; allow 60 to 90 minutes. By appointment, Monday to Saturday.
