About the Property

boon hotel + spa is an adults-only, 14-room hotel on Armstrong Woods Road, opened in April 2008 by owner and chef Crista Luedtke. It began as a 1970s roadside hotel, and rooms range from queens and kings to two suites.

Breakfast is delivered to the room each morning, and there is a solar-heated saline pool, a year-round saline hot tub and a massage-focused spa. Bikes are complimentary, and there is an honor bar. Dogs are welcome in a few rooms by arrangement for a fee, and the sister restaurant, boon eat + drink, is in town.

It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Korbel Champagne Cellars, Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery and Hartford Family Winery are all within about 25 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.

Getting Here From the Airport

Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 16 miles, 35 minutes. The closest airport to boon hotel + spa, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.

Oakland (OAK): about 83 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.

San Francisco International (SFO): about 83 miles, 2 hours, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.

Sacramento (SMF): about 112 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.

About 15 minutes away. Coastal Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay, poured on Graton Road in Sebastopol. The Coastal Reserve Tasting is $35, waived with a two-bottle purchase. Walk-ins welcome.
