About the Winery
Tinto Amorio was founded by Anish, who rethought his life after a car accident in his twenties kept him in a hospital bed for six months. He had first found minimal-intervention wine while living in Spain, and he set out to make fresh, lively, experimental wines and a brand built around gathering and community. The first vintage was released in February 2022, and the company remains minority owned by family and friends.
The wines are natural: grapes from organic or biodynamic farming, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, and no additions beyond a little sulfur at bottling. The orange wines come from vineyards transitioning to certified organic. The lineup includes Monje, a 7-day skin-contact orange wine; Bheyo, a longer skin-contact orange wine; and Jajaja, a semi-carbonic Glou Glou red. The 2023 vintages, produced in Healdsburg, were rated 93 and 94 points by Wine Enthusiast.
There is no tasting room. Tinto sells online, through its Skin Contact Club and through stockists listed on its Where to Get page. The day below goes to three Dry Creek Valley estates that do host, two of them farmed organically.
Tasting Fees
Tinto Amorio does not offer tastings. On the day below, the tasting fees are $35 at Ridge, $25 at Unti and $35 at Quivira, about $95 per person in all, paid directly to each winery.

About 15 minutes away. A family estate for Italian and Rhône varieties, farmed organically since 2003. A tasting of six wines of your choice is $25, waived with a bottle purchase; we allow about an hour. By reservation, with tastings starting on the hour.

About 10 minutes away. Deli sandwiches at the valley's general store, open since 1881, with a front porch and back gardens for eating outside. We confirm hours when we book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
2:30 · Quivira Vineyards & Winery
About 10 minutes away. An organic farm and winery on Wine Creek, with gardens, olive trees and a restored salmon stream. The Estate Tasting of five current releases is $35, at your own pace; open daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All three wineries are open daily, so this day works any day of the week. Unti starts tastings on the hour, so the morning leaves a little slack after Ridge.
