Allium Wines was started by Tyler and Hannah Woods to bring top-level winemaking to a new generation of wine lovers, with a focus on high-elevation vineyards. Tyler's plan took root during a 2017 harvest at Larkmead Vineyards. The wines are made by Matt Iaconis, founder and winemaker of Brick & Mortar, and Master Sommelier Vincent Morrow, beverage director for Union Square Hospitality Group, collaborates on them.
Allium works with growers who farm organically or sustainably at elevation, where warm days and cool nights keep acidity in the grapes. Its vineyards are Cavedale, at 1,840 feet in the Moon Mountain District and farmed by Phil Coturri; Katie's Block, at 1,560 feet above Lake Sonoma, for Sauvignon Blanc; and Alder Springs, at 2,300 feet in Mendocino County. The winemaking is low intervention.
Allium sells through its online shop and two memberships: The Collection, a $35 monthly credit, and the Inner Circle, with two shipments a year of $220 to $385 and invitations to private events. Its winery license is in Healdsburg, but it has no tasting room and offers no visits. The day below stays in downtown Healdsburg.
Allium does not offer tastings. On the day below, expect about $135 to $155 per person: $50 at Ramey, $45 at Hirsch and $40 to $60 at LIOCO.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as Harmon Guest House or h2hotel.
Since Allium Wines does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Harmon Guest House and h2hotel are next to each other on Healdsburg Avenue, about 5 minutes from the first stop. The day runs about five and a half hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. A private, seated tasting of six wines in an upstairs parlor over the cellar of the winery that David Ramey built. $50, about 90 minutes. By appointment daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
About 5 minutes away. A Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay estate founded in 1978, poured by appointment off the plaza. $45 for Discover Hirsch, a communal tasting of four wines, 45 minutes.
About 5 minutes away. Lunch at Valette, chef Dustin Valette's restaurant on the Healdsburg plaza. We confirm hours when we book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 2 minutes away. A tasting room on the corner of the plaza that feels like a European wine bar, pouring wines from small family vineyards. Three tasting experiences from $40 to $60. Open daily from noon; reservations strongly encouraged.
Back by about 3:25 p.m., about five and a half hours after pickup.
Every stop is within a few minutes of the plaza, so there is room to linger. Ramey hosts only at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., so we book the morning slot.
About $135 to $155 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
