About the Winery

Y. Rousseau Wines is the family winery of founder and winemaker Yannick Rousseau, born in Gascony in southwest France, the son of a butcher, and his Texas-born wife Susan, whom he met after following winemaking to Napa Valley. The business is based on Enterprise Way in Napa.

Yannick has a 25-year history with the grapes of southwest France and still makes Colombard and Tannat alongside his own blends. Wines named on the site include the Son of a Butcher Chardonnay, Milady Merlot, Pépé Cabernet Sauvignon, a Tannat and Musketeer. The winery says its wines are known for balance and food-friendliness.

There is no tasting room. Tastings with Yannick are by request: the site describes winter and spring tastings at a historic house in downtown Sonoma (most recently listed for March to May 2024) or at a private residence, and Zoom tastings in other seasons. Wines are sold through the client list, with releases in March and October. The day below stays near Napa, where the winery is based.

Tasting Fees

Y. Rousseau has listed private tastings with Yannick at $65 per person, for 4 to 10 guests, about 90 minutes, prepaid, with one fee waived per $300 purchase; we confirm whether one is available when we book.

On the day below, Black Stallion's Signature Tasting is $55, Pine Ridge's Estate Tasting is $60, and Darioush's Signature Tasting is $80.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
