World's End is the Napa Valley project of Jonathan Maltus, a winemaker with a growing reputation in Bordeaux. He began working in Napa in 2008 and took full ownership and hands-on control in 2017. His winemaker Neil Whyte has worked with him for more than 25 years across Bordeaux, Australia and the United States, and Adam Braunstein manages things on the ground in Napa.
The fruit comes from Andy Beckstoffer's vineyards, including parcels in To Kalon and Missouri Hopper, plus sites on Pritchard Hill. The wines are Bordeaux blends made with what the team calls a French touch: sorting by bunch and by berry, gentle vinification and French oak. Individual wines carry the names of Maltus's favorite rock songs, such as If Six Was Nine, Crossfire and Rocksteady.
World's End is sold through an allocation and through trade partners. The company gives an office address on Jefferson Street in Napa and publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do.
World's End does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since World's End does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Andaz Napa, a boutique Hyatt hotel, and Archer Hotel Napa are both in downtown Napa, about 20 minutes from the first stop in Wooden Valley. The day fits comfortably within six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 20 minutes away. A family ranch with caves and a stone winery in quiet Wooden Valley, east of the city of Napa. The hosted tasting of four estate wines with a meat and cheese platter is $75; we allow about 75 minutes. By appointment; no guests under 21 and no pets.
About 20 minutes away. Lunch at Angèle, a French brasserie on the Napa River in downtown Napa, serving lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 10 minutes away. Aaron Pott's small Cabernet vineyard near the Knights Valley line, with whites aged in Tuscan amphorae, poured at the Latour Court tasting room in south Napa. The Perliss Estate Tasting is $80 to $110 depending on the flight; we allow about an hour. By reservation for parties of 1 to 8.
About 18 minutes away. Winemaker Helen Keplinger's Grenache, Syrah and Oakville Cabernet, poured in a private vineyard setting at Arrow&Branch in Oak Knoll. The Rhone Tasting is $85 and the East ~ West Oakville Cabernet Tasting $200, both waived with a minimum purchase; we allow about an hour. By appointment, booked online.
Back by about 3:50 p.m., within six hours of pickup.
About $240 to $270 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Wooden Valley is the farthest point, so we go there first and have an early lunch in town. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
