Arnie and Desiree Wenyon and their children, Hannah and Seth, trace their journey into wine to 1997, when they turned a bomb shelter under their Orange County home into a wine cellar and began traveling the world's great wine regions. In 2018 they bought an old family vineyard that had been fallow for a couple of years, with a small Tuscan farmhouse, in Napa Valley's Oak Knoll District.
Their first decision, in their words, was "Bold and Unconventional": they planted Côt, the French Malbec, in a valley known for Cabernet. After about seven years of growing and barrel aging, they released their first small-production wines, including The Radical Estate Malbec, the Super Bloom red blend and the Bloom rosé. In 2024 they bought a second Oak Knoll vineyard and planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc in May 2025.
Wenyon sells its wines through its online shop and its club, and the family shares new releases, events and first access to limited wines through its mailing list. The winery has no tasting room and publishes no visiting hours or way to book a visit. The day below takes you to three Oak Knoll and Napa estates that do welcome guests.
Wenyon does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Milliken Creek Inn or Silverado Resort.
Since Wenyon does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do, starting in Wenyon's own Oak Knoll neighborhood. Milliken Creek Inn, on the Napa River off the Silverado Trail, is about 8 minutes from the first stop, and Silverado Resort, at the foot of Atlas Peak, about 12 minutes. The day runs about six and a half hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. A family estate in the Oak Knoll District where every wine is grown, made and bottled on the property. The private Tasting Experience at the Estate pours five estate wines with a cellar walk and vineyard stroll ($85, about 90 minutes). By prepaid reservation; open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through October, then Wednesday to Sunday.
About 12 minutes away. A boutique Coombsville Cabernet producer pouring at the Ackerman Heritage House near downtown Napa, with an aviary and a courtyard. The Ackerman Tasting of current releases is $65; we plan about an hour. By reservation, Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About 12 minutes away. Lunch at Bistro Don Giovanni, an Italian restaurant among the vineyards on Howard Lane, a valley favorite for more than 30 years, open daily from 11:30 a.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 8 minutes away. Hyde de Villaine, a partnership between Napa's Hyde Vineyards and Burgundy's de Villaine family, with education-focused tastings at its riverside winery. The private tasting of current releases is $75, about 90 minutes. By appointment, Monday to Saturday, with afternoon visits from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Back by about 4:25 p.m., about six and a half hours after pickup.
About $225 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Ackerman hosts Tuesday to Friday, so this day works on those days (from November through April, O'Brien opens Wednesday to Sunday, so Wednesday to Friday). It runs about six and a half hours.
