The Silver Oak family's second winery, which poured Merlot, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc on Dunaweal Lane until early 2025. Twomey's Calistoga winery does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

The Duncan family, co-founders of Silver Oak, started Twomey in 1999 to make wines other than Cabernet Sauvignon. It is named for Velma Marie Twomey Duncan, Ray Duncan's mother. The project began when the family bought Soda Canyon Ranch Vineyard and their winemaker, Daniel Baron, found it planted to fine French Merlot clones. Brothers David and Tim Duncan lead the company today.
In 2003 the Duncans bought the former Stonegate Winery on Dunaweal Lane, just south of Calistoga, and made it Twomey's Napa Valley home: a farmhouse-style building with an open tasting room, surrounded by Sauvignon Blanc vines. Merlot came first; Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc followed from a second winery the family bought in Healdsburg in 2006, and today the label focuses on Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and rosé.
In February 2025 Twomey closed its Calistoga tasting room, along with its room in Anderson Valley, and kept its Healdsburg winery open for members and guests. The Dunaweal Lane winery no longer receives visitors. The wines are sold on twomey.com and at Twomey Healdsburg on Westside Road, about 40 minutes away in Sonoma County. Here in Napa Valley, the day below takes you to three Calistoga estates nearby that do host.
Twomey's Calistoga winery does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Four Seasons Napa Valley, on the Silverado Trail just outside Calistoga, and Indian Springs, the historic spa resort in town, are each about 10 minutes from the first stop. The day runs about six and a half hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. A gated Jackson Family estate in north Calistoga that pours wines from its collection of estates around the world, in a customized seated tasting of five wines. $75 per person; we plan about an hour. By appointment and prepaid, with times from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 21 and over.
About 12 minutes away. A small mountain Cabernet estate on Diamond Mountain, its hand-tended vineyard surrounded by about 75 acres of forest. The Essence of Teachworth is a private tasting for your group, 60 to 90 minutes; the fee is confirmed when we book. By appointment only.
About 10 minutes away. Lunch at Sam's Social Club at Indian Springs in Calistoga, a sit-down restaurant named for town founder Samuel Brannan, serving lunch Monday through Friday and brunch on weekends. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 10 minutes away. A family ranch about 1,000 feet up outside Calistoga, where owner and sommelier Kerry Eddy leads a tour of the property, winery and cave before a private tasting with a cheese and charcuterie board. $100, 1.5 to 2 hours. Monday to Saturday at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. only; well-behaved children welcome, no dogs.
Back by about 4:30 p.m., about six and a half hours after pickup.
About $175 per person in tasting fees for Spire Collection and Tom Eddy, paid directly to each winery, plus Teachworth's fee, confirmed when we book.
Tom Eddy hosts Monday to Saturday only, at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m., so plan this day for any day but Sunday. Sam's Social Club serves brunch rather than lunch on Saturday. The day runs about six and a half hours, back by about 4:30 p.m.
