About the Winery

Siblings Jaime and Greg Araujo founded Trois Noix during the 2013 harvest, with a first vintage of 300 cases of Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon. The name is French for three nuts, a nod to the three children in the family, who were called the peanuts when they were small. Jaime, a former actress who spent many years working in Europe, became sole owner in 2018.

Trois Noix bought fruit from partner vineyards rather than farming an estate, much of it from Oak Knoll District sites including Ryan's Vineyard and the historic Muir-Hannah Vineyard. Beyond Cabernet it made Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, and its Chardonnay was named Chardonnay of the Year at the Sommelier's Choice Awards. It was a certified B Corporation, reported as the second winery in Napa Valley to earn it.

Trois Noix stopped producing on June 30, 2026. Jaime Araujo told the Napa Valley Register that distribution headwinds, quieter tasting rooms and a broad decline in wine consumption made trading very hard, and that her family had to come first. Its last tastings were by appointment at Museion in Calistoga, and its final wines were offered as a Farewell Collection. The day below goes to three estates nearby that do host.
